Kickstart Your Clinical Career – Graduate Opportunity in Kempston

Position: Clinical Teaching Assistant

Location: Kempston

Start Date: September

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: £460 – £500 per week

Sector: Education and Training, Mental Health & Clinical Pathways

Are you a Psychology or Criminology graduate looking to take the first step into a clinical career?

Do you want to build a meaningful foundation for becoming a Clinical Psychologist, Therapist, Assistant Psychologist, or Mental Health Practitioner?

This Clinical Teaching Assistant role in Kempston offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment, working alongside a multi-disciplinary clinical team. It’s not just a job — it’s the start of a clear, supported pathway into the clinical sector.

Your Route Into the Clinical Team

You’ll work in a highly specialised educational setting that integrates clinical practice into daily school life. Through ongoing mentorship from the on-site clinicians and therapists, you’ll gain the skills and exposure necessary to progress in the education and training sector:

Many of our Clinical TAs in the education and training environment have gone on to secure funded training and internal promotions within our clinical department.

Your Role as a Clinical Teaching Assistant

* Work closely with pupils aged 5–18 presenting with SEMH, neurodiversity, and trauma-related behaviours.
* Implement therapeutic strategies under the guidance of the school's clinical and therapeutic team.
* Support emotional regulation, build resilience, and facilitate 1:1 or small group learning sessions.
* Help develop and deliver tailored behaviour and education plans, promoting independence and well-being.
* Collaborate with staff, families, and external professionals to provide holistic, person-centred support.

What You’ll Gain

* Direct experience of clinical practices within an educational setting.
* Structured career progression into our internal Clinical Pathway, following a successful foundation year.
* Weekly mentorship and CPD from clinical and pastoral leads.
* First-hand experience in a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment — a valuable asset for postgraduate clinical applications.
* As a Clinical Teaching Assistant no two days are the same — and every interaction has an impact.

Who We’re Looking For

* Graduates in Psychology, Criminology, or Health and Social Care (or final year students).
* Individuals passionate about child and adolescent mental health, therapy, or trauma recovery.
* Those with experience (or a strong interest) in SEN, mental health, youth work, or educational support.
* Emotionally intelligent, compassionate, and resilient professionals ready to grow into a clinical role.
* Reliable access to Kempston or surrounding areas.

Apply now to begin your journey into the clinical field as a Clinical Teaching Assistant in Kempston.

Let this be the first step toward a clinical profession where you’ll change lives — including your own.
