Meet the Teaching Agency in Cardiff
The Cardiff office is an exciting location for Academics, and is an office that fully understands the requirements of its schools. The Cardiff office has both Teachers and Support Staff registering continuously due to the excellent reputation Academics has across the rest of the country.
It is a rapidly developing office that has built and maintained excellent relationships with many local schools. The Cardiff office provides supply teachers, teaching assistants and other support staff for day to day supply teaching and support roles, long term supply teaching and support jobs, and permanent placements, in nurseries, schools and colleges in South Wales. The office bases itself on high levels of customer service and aims to deliver a simple, efficient process for clients and candidates.
Since the office opened the office has grown massively thanks to having positive relationships with candidates, which has led to high numbers of referrals. The business model has proved to be a huge success and the company will look to continue in the same way with a solid reputation continuing to grow within the education sector for Cardiff and the surrounding areas.
Jessie joined the Academics team in early 2018. She was originally a valued member of the London Team but following a recent move to The West Country, she joined the Cardiff Team as a Primary Consultant. Jessie has 7 years’ experience working in Education Recruitment and has covered sectors from Nursery – KS5. Before working in recruitment Jessie was an Early Years Teacher, this gives her a fantastic working knowledge of education and life within schools.
Outside of the office Jessie enjoys spending time with her fiancé, renovating their house, and cooking.
Louise joined the Academics team in October 2021 as a Candidate Resourcer.
As a recent University of Malta Theatre graduate, Louise has a passion for education and building connections. Hand in hand, these skills translate seamlessly into education recruitment. Her understanding of the importance of education, and her ability to build relationships with applicants means she is able to help supply quality teaching and support staff to our client schools in South Wales.
In her spare time Louise enjoys exploring new cities, retail therapy, and most importantly annoying her partner!
Dom is the Branch Manager of our Cardiff office here at Academics. In addition to his managerial responsibilities, Dom also works with schools across South Wales to recruit high quality teaching, learning support and administrative staff for long term contract, permanent and daily supply positions. Dom works with Primary & Additional Learning Needs (ALN) schools and pupil referral units (PRUs).
Dom has worked in the Welsh education sector for almost a decade supporting schools, colleges and universities with their recruitment needs. Dom prides himself on his commitment to exceeding client’s expectations by actively looking to ‘give back’ whenever he can. From delivering workshops aimed at getting students into work, to delivering ‘Team Teach’ training to staff, to volunteering to work as an LSA for the day in one of his schools, Dom takes great pride in going the extra mile.
Dom is excited about speaking with teachers and learning support assistants about opportunities with Academics.
Dom is a qualified Team Teach Tutor and has also completed a Level 3 Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) qualification at the University of South Wales. Fun fact: inspired by his fiancée who is a Nurse, Dom dedicated time during the pandemic to train and then volunteer as a Police Officer. Dom worked with the response team in Cardiff Bay, attending calls from the trivial, to the life-threatening, resulting in an extremely rewarding experience.
Shw mae, Harrison dw i! Harrison joined Academics in October 2021 having previously worked for BT/EE in their sales department since 2017. Before that, he ran youth clubs and worked as an LSA in Pupil Referral Units across Manchester.
Having worked in sales and education, Harrison thought he’d try his hand at amalgamating them both and has so far been successful in maintaining existing relationships and creating new ones in several primary and Secondary schools in South Wales.
In his spare time, Harrison enjoy travelling with his girlfriend, Claire, trying to keep fit and watching Wales play football abroad in the most obscure places possible.
