James Hillyer
James joined Academics in August 2024 to establish and lead the new Bristol branch. With over 12 years of recruitment experience, primarily in the transport and logistics sector, James brings a wealth of expertise in identifying talent and fostering strong relationships with both clients and candidates. Transitioning into the education recruitment sector with Academics, he is excited to bring his recruitment skills to this dynamic and rewarding field.
At the Bristol branch, James focuses on expanding Academics' reach across the South West, connecting talented educators and support staff with a variety of opportunities in mainstream and specialist school settings. His commitment to providing a personalised and tailored service ensures that both schools and candidates receive the support they need to achieve their goals.
Outside of work, James has a passion for Formula 1 and has followed the sport all over the world, attending races as far afield as Singapore. His favourite driver is Lewis Hamilton—just don't mention Abu Dhabi 2021!
Aidan Gerrard
Aidan Gerrard joined Academics’ Bristol branch in November 2024 as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, having previously worked in a microbiology laboratory and completing an MRes at UWE Bristol. Aidan is committed to utilising his unique blend of experience and insight to consistently deliver quality recruitment solutions. Aidan has quickly shown his ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and candidates. He excels in candidate resourcing and in matching individuals with roles that allow them to succeed and advance their careers.
In his spare time, Aidan is a passionate Wycombe Wanderers fan, enjoys climbing and training in the gym.
