The branch covers the 3 LEAs in Essex – Thurrock, Southend & Essex. Within Essex LEA we cover schools across the 12 districts of Brentwood, Epping, Harlow, Chelmsford, Uttlesford, Thurrock, Basildon, Southend, Rochford, Tendering, Colchester, Braintree and Maldon.

Yasmin Boffa
Yasmin is the Branch Manager for the Chelmsford office, and works with primary schools in Essex and East London. Yasmin joined Academics in April 2016 as a Resourcer and Compliance Administrator, which gave her an excellent rounded knowledge of what to look for in suitable teachers, senior leaders and support staff. Yasmin progressed to a consultant in October 2017 and has since looked after schools in Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering & Essex. In 2022, Yasmin was promoted to Chelmsford Branch manager and along with the rest of her team, covers Primary, Secondary, SEN and Nursery schools across Essex, as well as her original East London patch.
Being originally from East London, and ‘Awesomestow’ as she likes to refer to it as, Yasmin thoroughly enjoys finding suitable staff for local schools so that she can give back to the community in which she grew up in and now her local area of Essex. Prior to joining Academics, Yasmin worked for the London Borough of Waltham Forest as a qualified Careers Adviser, working with Secondary Schools, Colleges and Job Centres. Yasmin is a huge family girl at heart and enjoys walking her dogs Woody, Buzz and Dolly in the Essex countryside.
Sarah O’Leary
Sarah joined Academics in 2022 and specialises in supporting schools with high-quality teachers, senior leaders and support staff across Chelmsford, Brentwood, Basildon, Wickford, Rochford, Southend, Castle Point and Thurrock. Prior to recruitment, she worked as a HLTA in a local primary school, giving her first-hand insight into the realities of school life and what makes an educator truly effective.
In her time with Academics, Sarah has built strong, trusted relationships with schools and is passionate about providing reliable, responsive support tailored to each setting’s needs. Originally from Ireland, Sarah has also lived in Vietnam and now calls England home. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and travelling back to Ireland to visit friends and family.
Joe Chevalier
Joe Chevalier joined Academics Chelmsford as a Senior Recruitment Consultant and he now supports secondary schools across South Essex. Joe works closely with schools and education professionals to provide high-quality recruitment solutions tailored to each setting.
Joe prides himself on building strong, honest relationships and taking the time to understand the needs of both schools and candidates. Outside of work, he’s a Chelsea supporter and enjoys fishing, which gives him the perfect chance to switch off and recharge.
Ellie Talbot
Ellie is a Secondary Education Recruitment Consultant covering North Essex, including Witham, Braintree, Colchester and Clacton. Her focus is on placing both daily cover and long-term teachers across all subjects, along with classroom support staff.
Ellie came to Academics Chelmsford with over 10 years’ experience within the recruitment industry, always prioritising client and candidate needs, frustrations and preferences. She has always been passionate about building true relationships that matter, as well as guaranteeing care and consideration when placing teachers and support staff in schools, ensuring the best possible future for students and teachers aligned.
