Meet the Teaching Agency in Stoke
The teaching agency in Stoke office covers Stoke, Staffordshire and East Cheshire, and we have recently started working with schools in Derbyshire. After opening the office in September 2011, we have built strong relationships with local Primary and Secondary schools and provide them with a high quality local service! Our teaching agency in Stoke offers a personal service to our Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors by listening to their needs and placing them in schools and positions that suit them.

Matt has been involved in Recruitment for almost 10 years, working across different sectors such as Industrial, Banking, and Sales. However, more recently his girlfriend became a teacher herself, prompting Matt to look at opportunities to work within the education sector. Since joining Academics, Matt has built strong relationships with local primary schools across North Staffordshire and East Cheshire and strives to provide a personable service to both schools and to all our teachers as he knows from first hand experience how hard teachers work! Outside of work Matt loves sports, especially golf, football and snooker, and enjoys going on walks and taking in the views of the English Countryside. Who doesn’t?
David joined the Stoke team in December 2015 and works with Primary & Secondary schools and teachers across Cheshire. His wife has been a Primary school teacher since 2002, and they have 3 children currently in school so his life now revolves around education. David was previously a retail manager for over 15 years, and it is there that he has built his skill set building relationships with a huge variety of people and he prides himself on his people and customer service skills!
At home, David has a Cockapoo, who along with the kids take up most of his spare time. Any time he does get to himself is spent playing and watching football, especially his team Liverpool! He is also a Crime Fiction fan, his favourite author being Lee Child and his character Jack Reacher.
Jade joined Academics in the summer of 2017 to start up a secondary desk in the Stafford area specialising in daily and long term supply. Jade is a very sociable person so she really enjoys the relationship building side to her role, as well as furthering her knowledge of the education sector.
She has lived in Staffordshire all her life so she is very familiar with the area and the local schools.
Jade’s spare time is mostly taken up by her Miniature Dachshund, Rupert who is glued to her side. She also loves eating out and has an addiction to fast food so she also tries to venture to the gym when she can.
Lisa joined Academics in May 2018 as the dedicated Consultant for SEN, with short and long term contracts available throughout Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and East Cheshire. Prior to working in education recruitment, Lisa worked for 15 years’ in Healthcare recruitment. Having previously recruited Social Workers for Local Authorities and Mental Health Professionals for the NHS; Lisa is now enjoying discovering some of the wonderful schools and SEN provisions in the area and transferring her experience into a new sector. Lisa has already established some firm relationships with local schools and has a number of staff placed in long-term roles throughout SEN and EBD schools.
Life outside of work for Lisa is committed to her 2 daughters, aged 9 and 15 and a love of outdoor running; although, as a naturally cold-blooded female, she finds this easier in spring and summer, and favours a blanket on the sofa in winter.
