Teaching Assistant

Academics is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming and inclusive primary school in South East London. This is a rewarding opportunity starting in Autumn 2025, ideal for individuals passionate about supporting children in their learning journey.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging and supportive learning experiences that help children reach their full potential. Every day will bring something different, making this an excellent opportunity for adaptable, flexible, and enthusiastic professionals who thrive in dynamic educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide classroom support in collaboration with the class teacher
*

Deliver 1:1 and group-based support for pupils across various ability levels
*

Support learning activities and contribute to assessment and pupil progress
*

Accompany students on educational trips and outdoor learning sessions
*

Assist in the creation of stimulating learning environments and resources
*

Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive atmosphere for all pupils
*

Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence in their learning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

*

A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
*

Prior experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
*

Excellent teamwork and communication skills
*

A proactive and adaptable approach to classroom support
*

A genuine passion for child development and inclusive education
*

Basic understanding of safeguarding and the importance of pupil well-being
