PRU English Teacher

Are you a resilient and passionate PRU English Teacher ready to make a lasting impact in the lives of young people? Academics, a leading education recruitment agency, is proud to be working with a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Walsall to recruit a dedicated PRU English Teacher who can engage and inspire students facing barriers to mainstream education.

About the Role:

As a PRU English Teacher, you will deliver creative, accessible, and purposeful English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students who may be dealing with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges, behavioural needs, or disrupted educational histories. You’ll play a crucial role in helping pupils re-engage with learning and develop the literacy skills they need for life beyond the classroom.

We are looking for a PRU English Teacher who is confident, adaptable, and deeply committed to nurturing student progress in both academics and personal development. You’ll be working as part of a supportive team dedicated to giving every learner a fresh start and a chance to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons adapted to individual student needs.
* Foster a positive learning environment focused on emotional safety and academic growth.
* Work closely with behaviour mentors, teaching assistants, and pastoral staff.
* Use assessment data to track progress and adapt planning accordingly.
* Promote literacy, communication, and personal responsibility across all activities.

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Experience teaching English, ideally within a PRU, SEMH, or alternative provision setting.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students who have complex needs.
* Patience, resilience, and strong behaviour management skills.
* A genuine commitment to inclusive and restorative education.

Why Join Academics?

* £150- £225 Per Day
* Dedicated support from a specialist SEN and PRU consultant.
* Access to exclusive PRU and alternative provision roles across Walsall.
* Supportive, responsive, and professional recruitment service.
* “Refer a Friend” bonus scheme available.

Whether you're an experienced PRU English Teacher or a strong English specialist ready to take on a new and rewarding challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
