Primary SEMH Teacher

Are you a compassionate and resilient Primary SEMH Teacher looking to transform the lives of young learners? About the Role:

As a Primary SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a creative and flexible curriculum to KS1 and KS2 pupils with significant social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Your role will be to help students build confidence, re-engage with learning, and make progress both academically and personally within a highly supportive setting.

We are seeking a Primary SEMH Teacher who is emotionally intelligent, committed to trauma-informed practice, and able to build trusting relationships that make a real difference in children's lives. You’ll work closely with experienced support staff and a pastoral team to foster resilience, engagement, and self-worth in every child.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and emotional development.
* Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external agencies.
* Monitor progress and adapt plans to meet EHCP goals and behavioural targets.
* Model and promote positive behaviour strategies and restorative practices.

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* Experience teaching in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches.
* Empathy, patience, and a strong belief in second chances.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
