📍 Near Summertown, Oxford
💰 £85–£100 per day
🕰️ Full-time | ASAP Start

Are you passionate about supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and mental health? Ready to make a genuine difference every single day? We’re looking for a dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) primary school near Summertown in Oxford.

About the Role:
You’ll be working closely with children aged 5 to 11 who need extra support managing their emotions, building trust, and accessing learning in a nurturing environment. This is a unique opportunity to build meaningful connections with young people who may have struggled in mainstream settings.

What You’ll Be Doing:
✨ Supporting students in the classroom, one-to-one and in small groups
✨ Helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence and develop positive routines
✨ Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff
✨ Using creative, engaging approaches to learning and behaviour support

Why This Role Matters:
Working with children with SEMH needs is incredibly rewarding. Every small milestone — a smile, a moment of calm, an achievement in class — carries weight. You’ll be part of a team that transforms lives and offers children the tools to thrive, not just academically but emotionally and socially.

The Platform It Offers You:
✔️ Hands-on, practical experience in a specialist education setting
✔️ Ideal stepping stone for careers in education, psychology, social work or therapy
✔️ Access to training, mentorship and CPD opportunities
✔️ The chance to be part of a supportive, passionate, and welcoming team

About You:
✅ Calm, patient and resilient
✅ Strong interpersonal skills and a natural ability to build rapport
✅ Experience working with children, or in mental health/ SEN settings (desirable but not essential)
✅ Available to start ASAP on a full-time basis

Interested?
