Sector: Education and Training

Role: Non-Teaching SENCO

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £39,179.00 - £42,654.00 Annually (Actual)

Are you a qualified teacher (QTS) looking to step away from the classroom but still make a meaningful impact on children's lives in the education and training sector? We’re seeking a passionate, organised, and experienced individual to join our team as a non-teaching SENCO at a welcoming and inclusive school in Ampthill.

This is an exciting opportunity in the education and training sector to take the next step in your career and play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs—without a full-time teaching timetable.

About the Role:

As a dedicated non-teaching SENCO, you’ll lead on all aspects of SEND provision across the school. You’ll work closely with teachers, support staff, external agencies, and families to ensure all pupils with additional needs receive the support they need to thrive. With no regular classroom teaching, you’ll have the time and headspace to focus on strategy, coordination, and individual support.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the Ampthill school
* Oversee EHCP applications, reviews, and liaison with the local authority
* Provide advice, guidance, and CPD to staff on inclusive practice
* Coordinate with external professionals to secure appropriate interventions
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of provision for SEND pupils

We’re looking for someone who:

* Holds QTS and has experience working with pupils with SEND
* Has (or is willing to work towards) the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO)
* Is passionate about inclusion and has a child-centred approach
* Communicates confidently and works well within a team
* Has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Why Join Us?

* A supportive and experienced senior leadership team
* A collaborative and caring school environment
* The opportunity to make a genuine difference without classroom teaching pressures
* Professional development and SENCO training support

If you’re ready for a new challenge in Ampthill and want to shape inclusive education from a strategic position as a non-teaching SENCO, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply for this Ampthill role today! Interviews comencing in the coming weeks.
