Academics are currently looking to appoint a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist SEN school in Gloucester. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to helping children with complex needs thrive in a nurturing educational environment.
Location: Gloucester
Pay: £85-£100 per day
Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with a student who requires tailored support due to a range of additional learning, communication, or sensory needs. You’ll play a vital role in helping them access the curriculum, develop confidence, and reach their full potential.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, and/or moderate to severe learning difficulties
* Brings a calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
* Can build strong, trusting relationships with both pupils and staff
* Is resilient, empathetic, and confident when dealing with challenging behaviour
* Understands the importance of routines, structure, and visual supports in an SEN setting
This role would suit someone with previous experience in education, healthcare, or care settings. However, we also welcome individuals with a strong desire to make a difference and a willingness to learn.
