Behaviour Support Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting pupils to overcome behavioural challenges and thrive in their education? We’re looking for a proactive and understanding Behaviour Support Assistant to join a nurturing school team, in Stafford, that puts pupils' emotional and social development first.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you’ll work with children across Key Stages 1–4 who display behaviours that challenge. These may stem from unmet emotional needs, trauma, or neurodiversity conditions such as ADHD and autism. You’ll work closely with teaching staff and behaviour leads to put supportive strategies in place and help pupils stay on track—both emotionally and academically. This rewarding role is based in a welcoming school, in Stafford.

From diffusing difficult moments with calm reassurance to celebrating small wins that lead to bigger breakthroughs, your support will be vital in helping pupils build self-belief, resilience, and a sense of belonging in school.

What you’ll be doing:

* Providing targeted 1:1 and small group support
* Helping pupils regulate their emotions and manage behaviours
* Reinforcing positive behaviour strategies and routines
* Working with teachers to adapt learning activities and goals
* Supporting with classroom transitions and break-time routines

What we’re looking for:

We want a Behaviour Support Assistant with patience, initiative, and a solution-focused mindset. Experience working with young people in SEMH or similar settings is desirable, and Team Teach or MAPA training would be an advantage.

In Return, You’ll Receive:

* A purposeful role where every day matters
* Regular support from a dedicated SEN consultant
* Access to CPD and behaviour training
* Competitive pay and referral bonuses

If you’re ready to make a difference where it counts most, apply now to become a Behaviour Support Assistant in a school where care, connection, and consistency are key. Academics are acting as an agency on behalf of other organisations.
