Speech and Language Therapist - Hillingdon

We are a newly established, purpose-built SEN primary school located in the heart of Hillingdon, dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive education for children aged 4–11 with a range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and associated learning difficulties.

Our multidisciplinary approach lies at the heart of everything we do. We believe in creating a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where pupils thrive, and staff are supported and valued.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team and make a real difference in the lives of our pupils. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and the wider therapy team to support the communication development and functional communication skills of children with complex speech, language, and communication needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity from the ground up in a growing, forward-thinking SEN school.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver speech and language therapy interventions to pupils with a range of needs, including non-verbal communication, receptive and expressive language disorders, and social communication difficulties.
* Carry out assessments, create detailed therapy plans, and write professional reports including EHCP contributions and annual reviews.
* Work closely with teaching staff to support communication-friendly classrooms and embed therapeutic strategies into the curriculum.
* Deliver individual, group, and class-based therapy sessions.
* Provide training, support, and guidance to teaching and support staff to upskill their ability to meet pupils’ communication needs.
* Liaise with families and external professionals to ensure joined-up working and consistency of approach.

Essential Requirements

* Recognised Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* Registration with HCPC and membership of RCSLT
* Experience working with children with Autism and/or complex communication needs, ideally in an educational or SEN setting
* Strong understanding of relevant therapeutic approaches and evidence-based practice
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills

Desirable

* Experience working in a school-based setting or newly opened provision
* Knowledge of AAC, Makaton, PECS, or TEACCH
* Previous experience writing EHCP reports and attending annual reviews
