Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Full-Time (ASAP Start)
📍 Location: Oxford
💰 Pay: £80-£95 per day

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? If so, working as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant is a hugely rewarding opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting students who need it most.

This role will allow you to develop essential skills such as communication, patience, problem-solving, and resilience—qualities that are highly valued in careers such as teaching, educational psychology, therapy, and social work. Many of our Teaching Assistants go on to further study or full-time roles in SEN education, clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, and mental health support.

We're looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding school in Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with students who have a wide range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, complex needs, and learning disabilities. You will be making a real difference by helping students develop their confidence, independence, and social skills, ensuring they feel supported and valued in their education.

Why working in SEN is so rewarding

Supporting students with special educational needs means no two days are the same—you’ll experience first-hand the impact your support has on a child’s progress. Whether it's helping a non-verbal child find new ways to communicate, encouraging a student to engage with learning, or simply being a trusted and reassuring presence, this role gives you the chance to create meaningful, long-lasting change.

By working closely with experienced SEN teachers, therapists, and support staff, you will gain practical skills and insights that will be invaluable for careers in:
✅ Teaching (Primary, Secondary, and SEN)
✅ Educational and Clinical Psychology
✅ Speech and Language Therapy
✅ Counselling and Mental Health Support
✅ Social Work and Youth Engagement

What the role entails:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to support students' individual learning plans. Your responsibilities will include:
✅ Assisting with classroom activities and personalised learning plans
✅ Providing one-on-one support to students who need additional help
✅ Encouraging social interaction and emotional development
✅ Helping manage behaviour in a positive and constructive way
✅ Supporting students in developing essential life skills
✅ Ensuring students’ safety and well-being throughout the school day

If you're looking to build your professional experience while making a genuine impact, apply today to become a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in Oxford!
