SEMH Teaching Assistant – Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Kempston, Bedfordshire

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

* Hold a Psychology or Criminology degree (or are graduating soon)
* Are interested in a long-term career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or SEN teaching
* Have a strong passion for mental health, child development, and educational equity
* Can build rapport and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
* Are reliable, empathetic, and excited to contribute to a nurturing learning environment

Your key responsibilities:

* Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in small group settings (6–8 pupils)
* Work alongside an experienced SEN team to implement individual learning plans
* Help students overcome barriers to learning and develop emotional resilience
* Track progress and contribute to multi-agency support planning
* Foster a classroom culture of belonging, consistency, and respect

Requirements:

* A relevant degree (Psychology or Criminology preferred)
* Experience with or a keen interest in SEN, Autism, or mental health support
* Ability to commit to a full-time, term-time role in Kempston
* A proactive attitude and genuine desire to support vulnerable learners
