We’re seeking a passionate, empathetic, and proactive School Mental Health Assistant to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Luton, dedicated to supporting the emotional wellbeing and development of its students.

About the Role:

* As a School Mental Health Assistant, you'll work closely with the school’s pastoral and SEN team to:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students experiencing mental health or emotional challenges.
* Assist in developing behaviour intervention plans and wellbeing strategies.
* Support students affected by trauma, anxiety, low mood, or social difficulties.
* Help implement restorative and trauma-informed approaches across the school.
* Liaise with families, external agencies, and safeguarding leads to ensure holistic support.

What We’re Looking For:

* A degree in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field.
* A genuine passion for working with young people and promoting mental health.
* Empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
* Some experience (paid or voluntary) working with vulnerable individuals or children is desirable but not essential – we offer full training.
