Students have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), with many also having additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.

The school follows a trauma and attachment-informed approach, providing all staff with extensive therapeutic training and support. Their child-centred approach ensures collaboration between education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, and local authority teams to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Nurture Teacher Role – Chalfont St Giles- Education and Training- Chalfont St Giles

As a Nurture Teacher in Milton Keynes, you will play a pivotal role in helping students develop emotionally and socially, providing tailored teaching and support in a small, nurturing setting. This role prioritises knowing the child, building positive relationships, and motivating students. Nurture Teachers inspire learning through engaging, relevant lessons while supporting students in building self-esteem, confidence, and essential life skills.

Students require dedicated teachers who can manage complex behaviours with consistency, flexibility, and a non-judgmental approach. The school values teacher input in shaping its direction, curriculum, and extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality teaching and support to students with SEMH needs in a nurturing environment.

Develop and deliver personalised learning plans to meet individual student needs.

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and professionals to support holistic development.

Create a structured classroom environment that promotes emotional and social growth.

Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families to encourage engagement and progress.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adapting strategies as necessary.

Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all students, adhering to school policies and procedures.
