We are currently seeking a dedicated PRU Teaching Assistant to join our team in Luton. In this rewarding role, you’ll work with students in a Pupil Referral Unit, providing crucial academic, emotional, and behavioural support to help them overcome challenges and succeed in their education.

Role: PRU Teaching Assistant

Location: Luton

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £460 - £500 a week

Key Responsibilities:

* Support students who may have behavioural and emotional challenges in a nurturing and safe environment.
* Assist with delivering tailored lesson plans and one-to-one support to students.
* Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement and participation.
* Help manage classroom behaviour and provide emotional support to students as they work through difficulties.
* Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure students' individual learning needs are met.
* Monitor students’ progress and report any concerns to the relevant staff.
* Support students during non-lesson times, including lunch and break periods, ensuring their well-being.

The Ideal Candidate:

* A passion for working with young people, especially those who may face challenging behaviours or emotional difficulties.
* Experience working with students in a PRU, alternative education, or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students who may have complex needs.
* Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A background in psychology, criminology, or education is an advantage, but not essential.
* A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing needs.
