Are you a compassionate and dedicated tutor eager to make a real impact? We’re looking for an unqualified teacher or tutor to take on an exciting role as an SEMH Tutor in Bedford. You’ll be supporting learners with Autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviours, helping them with their Functional Skills and GCSE studies. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to start immediately and make a difference in the lives of these students!

Job Title: SEMH Tutor

Location: Bedford

Pay: £130 - £150 per day

Sector: Education and Training

Hours: 08:30 - 16:30

Key Responsibilities of a SEMH Tutor:

* Deliver tailored tutoring in Functional Skills (Maths, English, ICT) and GCSE subjects, specifically for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
* Provide support to help students build their academic skills, confidence, and independence.
* Adapt your teaching approach to suit individual student needs, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
* Monitor progress closely, set achievable targets, and offer constructive feedback to both students and their families.
* Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and school staff to maintain a consistent approach to learning and wellbeing.

About You:

* Previous experience in tutoring students with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with SEMH.
* Familiarity with Functional Skills and the GCSE curriculum.
* Understanding of learning difficulties (e.g., ADHD, autism, dyslexia) and how to effectively support these students.
* Patient, empathetic, and proactive in your teaching approach.
* Strong communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with students and their families.
* Based locally to Bedford with a reliable commute.
