SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Focus) – Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? A supportive and welcoming school in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with students who have ASD.

In this rewarding role, the successful candidate will provide tailored support to students in the classroom, ensuring that each child receives the guidance and encouragement they need to thrive in their learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are committed to enhancing the educational experience for children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP's) for students with ASD.

Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, ensuring their needs are met both academically and socially.

Assist in the development of social skills, communication, and emotional regulation through structured activities.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

Support students during classroom activities and school outings, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Help to implement strategies for managing challenging behaviours in a calm and effective manner.

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children or young people with ASD is highly desirable, though training can be provided for the right person.

A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both students and staff.

Ability to adapt and think creatively to meet the unique needs of each student.

A commitment to ensuring all students achieve their full potential.
