As a Graduate SEMH Assistant, you will be supporting a Key Stage 1 student with SEMH needs in a mainstream primary school in Wallingford. Many of the children in this setting experience additional challenges with their social, emotional, and mental health, and your role will be critical in helping them overcome these barriers to learning. Your duties will include:

* 1:1 Support for a Key Stage 1 Student – Work directly with a child, providing tailored support for their emotional and academic needs.
* Supporting Emotional Regulation – Help the student develop coping strategies to manage their emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.
* Academic Support – Assist the student with learning activities, ensuring they can access the curriculum and progress alongside their peers.

Who We’re Looking For

* A graduate with a strong academic background – Degrees in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or other related fields are highly beneficial.
* Someone with a genuine interest in supporting children with SEN and SEMH challenges.
* A patient and empathetic individual – You must be able to understand and support children through emotional and social challenges.
* A team player who is proactive, willing to learn, and keen to collaborate with teachers and support staff.
