A Primary School in Reading has recently opened a specialist SEN unit and is seeking a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and complex needs. This role is ideal for Psychology, Criminology, or similar graduates, though candidates with relevant SEN experience are always also be considered.
The SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant Role in Reading:
* Work closely with SEN children, therapists, psychologists, and teachers.
* Provide one-on-one and group support as a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant in Reading.
* Assist students with numeracy and literacy in Key Stage 1 & 2.
* Implement strategies tailored to Autism and other SEN needs.
* Support students in achieving their learning objectives as a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant.
* Maintain a child-centred approach to care and education in Reading.
Key Requirements for a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant in Reading:
* Passion for SEN support and education in Reading.
* GCSEs in Maths & English (C or above).
* Energetic, patient, and proactive approach.
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
* Ideal for graduates aiming for careers in therapy, teaching, or counselling.
