The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes during the short term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task. Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the teacher
* Ensure that students complete the work set
* Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
* Follow the school's behaviour management policies to ensure student conduct is appropriate
* Provide support to individual students where necessary
* Liaise with teaching staff regarding cover work and any issues that arise during lessons
* Assist with other duties around the school as required, including exam invigilation and support during school events
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* A proactive and flexible approach to work
* A genuine interest in supporting student learning and development
* To be currently located in or around the Chester or Wirral area
* An enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one
