Job Description:

Academics LTD is working with a highly regarded secondary school in Swindon, offering a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Graduate Cover Supervisor. The school is dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to become successful learners and well-rounded individuals.

Your sports background will serve as a strong foundation for this role, as the skills you’ve developed—such as leadership, teamwork, communication, discipline, and resilience—are directly transferable to managing classrooms and supporting students' academic progress.

This role offers more than just classroom management—it’s an excellent platform for teacher training with the potential for career progression in education.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and manage student behaviour to ensure a productive and focused learning environment
* Act as a positive role model, drawing on your sports experience to encourage teamwork, discipline, and motivation in students
* Cover pre-assigned lessons in the absence of regular teachers
* Develop rapport quickly with students, using your leadership and interpersonal skills to create a positive classroom dynamic
* Be flexible in covering various subjects across KS3 and KS4, while maintaining a calm, structured atmosphere
* Use your background in sports to foster confidence, resilience, and group cooperation in students

Ideal Candidate:

* A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or any related subject (recent graduates welcome)
* A background in coaching, sports leadership, or working with young people is a plus
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* A passion for supporting student learning and personal development
* Ability to maintain a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere
* Opportunity to cover P.E lessons and put your coaching experience to a school setting
* Flexible and adaptable to different teaching situations
