Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will be tasked with creating engaging and motivating lessons that build students' confidence and expertise in the subject. Your role will be pivotal in helping students strengthen their reading, writing, and analytical abilities, while also nurturing a passion for language and literature.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Inspire and challenge students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
* Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on student progress
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking
* Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students in their learning
* Support students in developing strong literacy skills and a love for reading and writing
* Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as debate clubs or creative writing workshops
* Collaborate with colleagues and participate in department meetings, planning, and professional development
Who We're Looking For:
* A fully qualified English Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience in teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is a plus)
* In-depth subject knowledge and a genuine passion for both English literature and language.
* Exceptional communication and classroom management skills
* A dedication to inspiring and motivating students to reach their full potential
* A flexible, proactive approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt to varying classroom needs.
* An eagerness to engage with the wider school community and contribute to extracurricular activities
