Academics are working with a wonderful, 2 form entry primary school in Grays, who are currently hiring a graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2024.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who is looking to begin their career in teaching and wants to gain valuable experience.

This is an inclusive, diverse and welcoming school that is situated in the heart of Grays. The school boasts a Good Ofsted rating with some outstanding qualities. Community is extremely important in this school. It holds great relationships with Parents/Guardians, Governors and all the staff. Students enjoy coming to school daily and are very eager to learn. You would be joining a friendly team who are always on hand to offer support.

Please note, this graduate teaching assistant role comes with potential schools direct opportunities where you can develop and train onsite as a teacher.

The ideal candidate should:

* Have a degree from a reputable university ( 2:1 or above)
* Be willing to go above and beyond for the students
* Must be a team player
* Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties (preferred but not essential)
* Be passionate about supporting children with their learning
* Be enthusiastic, friendly and confident
* Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities
* Must be able to relate well to young people and adults and have some understanding of the range of needs of young people with learning difficulties

Key responsibilities within the role:

* Attend to pupils’ personal needs, and implement related personal programmes (must be comfortable taking both girls and boys to the toilet)
* Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
* Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, whilst treating them with respect and consideration
* Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress
