Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to join our passionate team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical lessons in Food Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering creativity, culinary skills, and an understanding of nutrition. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator to contribute to our school's mission of excellence in Food Technology education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, deliver, and assess practical and theoretical Food Technology lessons that cover a range of culinary techniques, nutrition principles, and food safety practices, in line with the national curriculum.
* Create a stimulating and safe learning environment where students feel inspired to explore and experiment with food, develop their cooking skills, and learn about healthy eating habits.
* Provide hands-on demonstrations, guided practice, and constructive feedback to support students in mastering culinary techniques and creating nutritious meals.
* Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Food Technology across the curriculum and promote cross-curricular connections through projects and initiatives related to health, science, and sustainability.
* Organize and oversee practical cooking sessions, food tastings, and educational visits to enhance students' learning experiences and broaden their culinary horizons.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Food Technology education, with experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Food Technology.
* Proficiency in a wide range of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and food preparation skills, with a focus on promoting healthy eating and nutrition.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
