SEND Deputy Head of Year Teacher

Are you an experienced and dedicated SEND Teacher with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Join a prestigious secondary school in Ilford as we seek a talented SEND Deputy Head of Year Teacher to make a positive impact on our students' lives starting September 2024.

* Position: SEND Deputy Head of Year Teacher
* Location: Ilford
* Start Date: September 2024
* Pay: M1 - U3
* Contract: Full time, Permanent from September 2024

Responsibilities:

* Support the Head of Year in overseeing the academic progress, welfare, and behavior of students with SEND within the year group.
* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with SEND, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to provide a holistic approach to supporting students with SEND.
* Lead and participate in meetings, reviews, and training sessions related to SEND provision and inclusion.
* Foster a positive and inclusive school culture where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in achieving their full potential.

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification with experience working with students with SEND.
* Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a SEND or inclusion setting.
* Strong understanding of SEND legislation, best practices, and interventions to support students with a range of needs.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality within the school community.
