Aspiring Psychologist – Mental Health Support

A school in Oxford are looking for an individual to come in and support their students with coping with social, emotional and mental health needs.

They are highly regarded in their area and have great core values that centre around ensuring the students can access their education in the same ways that their typical peers can.

The children come from different backgrounds, some struggling with trauma and neglect.

They all need support to cope in healthy ways and regulate and process their emotions in ways that will set them up for success.

You will work alongside the class teacher and other senior members of staff, who will teach you the correct ways to support the children.

You will facilitate various therapeutic techniques, with guidance.

You will also make use of restorative practices designed to support their mental health.

To be considered for the role of Mental Health Support, you will need to be:

Able to adapt your approach to meet the needs of the various children.

Proactive and take initiative well

Follow guidance and direction

Please note that previous experience with children may be advantageous but not essential for this role. You must be keen to help and make a difference!
