Teaching Assistant/ 1:1 SEN TA - Hertford

A lovely school I’m working with – situated in Hertford - boasts expansive gardens and outdoor spaces, featuring two courtyards, basketball/netball/tennis courts, a picnic area, an outdoor gym, and a gym trail, all set against the backdrop of a beautiful river and scenic countryside views.

Currently, the school has 243 pupils enrolled, divided into mixed ability classes with approximately 30 students per class, whereby the dedicated team of experienced teachers and support staff is committed to fostering a positive learning environment.

The school are currently seeking individuals for either a class-based Teaching Assistant role or to provide one-on-one support for a student with additional needs. Patience, adaptability, and a dedication to nurturing independent and confident learners are essential qualities for these positions.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and collaborate closely with teachers, the SENCo, and external advisors. While prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

Candidates must hold GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths (grade C or above) and demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English.

In return, the school can offer:

* A supportive and compassionate work environment
* A cohesive and welcoming team of colleagues
* Access to well-equipped facilities
* Opportunities for continuous professional development with comprehensive mentoring and support

These positions are permanent contracts, with the Teaching Assistant role requiring 28 hours and 45 minutes per week, Monday to Friday, and the MSA role requiring 2 hours and 30 minutes per week, also Monday to Friday, during term time only.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment and undergo rigorous background checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and reference checks.

We are an equal opportunities employer, adhering to strict child protection procedures and safer recruitment guidelines.

Salary: H2 pro-rata
