SEMH Teaching Assistant - Southampton - April Start

The school's aspirational curriculum allows their students to experience a mainstream academic experience whilst being supported by a highly skilled and supportive staff team. They also have smaller class sizes to ensure academic and pastoral progress. They enable students through their learning journey and are always prepared to support them through the consequences of actions and guide them toward being able to regulate themselves in preparation for the life journey ahead of them.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support students on a 1:1 and small group basis. Experience of working in a school with pupils with SEN/SEMH would be an advantage. The suitable person will be passionate about education and supporting and developing children with additional needs, be calm, engaging, empathetic yet firm and have the ability to think on their feet.

This is a great role for anyone looking to work full-time in an alternative education provision.

You will need to have or be willing to pay and apply for an enhanced DBS and have the right to work in the UK (ideally you will be based in Southampton, or be willing to commute to the area).
