Are you a recent graduate, and are looking to secure a teaching assistant role from September in anticipation for beginning teacher training in the near future?

My client, a two form entry oversubscribed primary school based in the heart of Central London are seeking two graduates to join the support staff team from September to work as graduate teaching assistants.

This is a great chance to gain experience in a good primary school ahead of applying for PGCE/teacher training.

This teaching assistant role is a full time position, 5 days per week and would suit a recent graduate who is eager to gain develop their experience with young people ahead of commencing teacher training.

As a teaching assistant you will be allocated a class within reception, key stage 1 or key stage 2 and will work alongside an experienced class teacher. Your duties will include working with pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, leading intervention groups outside of the classroom, setting up activities in the classroom and playground and lunchtime duties.

The head teacher is looking to interview recent graduates who have some form of recent experience with young people. You may have gained this experience a number of ways such as voluntary school work, overseas teaching, tutoring, sports coaching, youth work etc.

This is a full time teaching assistant role – Monday – Friday and is for the full academic year (July 2025).
