SEN Early Years Foundation Stage

Academics are looking for a compassionate and experienced individual to work as a 1-to-1 SEN EYFS Support Practitioner, focusing on supporting children with Autism within the schools Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting. This role involves providing personalised support to a child with Autism, ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of the EYFS curriculum and supporting their social, emotional, and educational development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one support to a child with Autism within the EYFS setting, helping them to access the curriculum and participate in activities.
* Develop and implement individualised support plans tailored to the specific needs of the child, focusing on their communication, social interaction, and sensory needs.
* Work closely with EYFS teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive learning environment that promotes the child's independence and engagement.
* Support the child in developing their social skills and building positive relationships with peers, fostering a sense of belonging within the EYFS community.
* Monitor and record the child's progress, regularly reviewing and adjusting support strategies to ensure their needs are met effectively.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children with Autism, preferably within an Early Years or educational setting.
* Knowledge and understanding of Autism spectrum disorders and the strategies for supporting children with Autism in an educational environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with special needs.
* Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
