An outstanding specialist school in Gloucester are on the hunt for a Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team of staff.
The role as a Mental Health Support Assistant:
* You will be directly involved in supporting students with their academic success as well as ensuring that their mental health is well taken care of.
* You will encourage the children to do their best academically, as well nurturing their mental health. This will look like teaching them healthy ways to cope with their big feeling and how to find healthy and positive ways to cope.
* You will make use of restorative practices with the students, these are wonderful interventions that support their wellbeing and mental health.
* You will also be directly involved in helping the students manage their class work and help them reach their academic goals. This will take place either in small group settings or in 1:1 sessions with students.
What you need to be a great Mental Health Support Assistant:
* Experience working with children is always a bonus but what counts more is personality!
* To be successful in this mental health and wellbeing role you will need to be compassionate and kind, take initiative and be able to problem solve well.
* You should also be able to engage well with the children and facilitate a safe an fun learning environment
