Academics are a local education recruitment agency with a large presence across Southampton and Hampshire, we’re looking for dedicated and qualified supply teachers to join our secondary team. We have work available immediately and from after Easter for both day-to-day supply and long-term cover.
Joining our team of local Secondary Teachers, you will be responsible for:
* Delivering pre-planned lessons to secondary pupils across a range of subjects (KS3-KS4)
* Maintaining a calm and engaging learning environment
* Following the schools policies and procedures
* Monitoring pupils participation during lessons
* Implementing methods that encourages active learning
You will need to be available between 8:30am - 3:30pm and be local to the area.
Secondary Teachers with Academics will join for various reasons. Whether you are hoping for a more balanced, flexible work schedule, would like to gain more classroom experience before embarking on a permanent role or are only looking to work for a short stint, we can help.
Not only do we help people find regular supply work, we also support our client schools to secure top teachers for their short & long term contract work and Permanent roles.
Secondary Teachers will require:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to lead and deliver lessons
* Strong classroom management skills
* The ability to provide structure and build positive relationships
* To be adaptable to work in a variety of schools
