The Role – College Support Workers – London

Academics are currently working with an academy of SEN colleges in London that supports young people with a range of special needs. The colleges work with students aged from 16-25 who have needs from moderate learning difficulties to complex needs, supporting them to be able to engage in the community and prepare them for life after education.

The academy is looking for several members of staff to join them right away or from after the Easter break four days a week, Monday to Thursday, working 8:45 to 4:30. These roles are for long term positions and for candidates who are successful, will transfer into a permanent contract from the college after around four months.

The Candidate – College Support Workers – London

* Experience of working with special needs (Autism, Severe learning difficulties, Profound and multiple learning difficulties)
* Experience of working within the care industry (child or adult)
* A can do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom
* The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
* The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members
* Training and/or experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

* Manual Handling
* Personal Care
* Hoist Training
* Feeding & Changing
