Job Title: Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for Complex Needs Class

Location: Havering, London

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant seeking an exciting opportunity to work in a Special School environment? We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Havering, London, to support a complex needs class. This role requires someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact, therefore previous experience working in a special school setting is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-to-one and group support to students with a range of complex needs, including autism, PMLD, physical needs, and speech and communication difficulties.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) tailored to each student's needs.
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, adapting materials and activities as necessary to meet the diverse needs of the students.
* Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues, therapists, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development and well-being.

Requirements:

* Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a special school setting, ideally with experience supporting students with autism, PMLD, physical needs, complex needs, and speech and communication difficulties.
* A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs, with a patient and empathetic approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond effectively to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
* Commitment to full-time work and availability to start after February half-term.
