Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum? We are seeking dedicated an empathetic individual to join a primary school support team as an Autism Support Worker. If you are committed to providing compassionate care, fostering independence, and enhancing the well-being of children with autism, we want to hear from you!

Your position will play a central role in offering crucial support to students whose primary diagnosis is Autism. These students face additional challenges, including speech and language difficulties, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and various other learning needs. Additionally, many of them exhibit difficulties in social interactions, emotional well-being, and mental health.

In this dynamic role, you'll provide essential support to students throughout the day, adapting to their unique learning needs and collaborating with the class teacher on specialized techniques for a positive classroom environment. Beyond academics, you'll contribute to lesson planning, maintain an energetic atmosphere, and monitor student progress. Join us in creating a vibrant and successful learning journey for all!

The ideal candidate for the Autism Support Worker position is someone characterized by calmness, adeptness in working well under pressure, and a positive, encouraging demeanour. Preferably, you bring prior experience in supporting children with additional needs. Possession of an enhanced DBS certificate is a requirement, and if not already obtained, a willingness to apply for one is essential. Furthermore, a comprehensive understanding of the significance of safeguarding in school environments is a key aspect of this role.

This is a great opportunity for individuals looking for a new challenge. This role will also suit aspiring educational psychologists, counsellors as well as behaviour therapists. While this role will provide you with valuable experience working with children with additional needs, it is also extremely fulfilling and you will go home every day knowing you are making a difference.
