SENCO Teacher Jobs in Birmingham

Birmingham’s schools are actively seeking SENCOs to help lead and shape their SEND provision. As a large and culturally rich city, Birmingham presents an array of opportunities for SENCOs across different key stages and school types, including primary, secondary, and all-through academies.

In this role, SENCOs are responsible for assessing pupil needs, creating support plans, and ensuring inclusive classroom practices. Birmingham schools value SENCOs who can drive intervention strategies, manage support teams, and work collaboratively with staff and families to ensure each pupil can thrive.

With a growing number of pupils requiring tailored support, SENCOs play a vital role in helping schools meet the needs of learners with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other complex needs. Working in Birmingham often involves engaging with external professionals, attending review meetings, and keeping accurate records for statutory assessments.

The city’s education system is supported by several teaching alliances and SEND-focused initiatives, creating a strong community for SENCOs to access training and peer collaboration. Whether you’re newly qualified or looking for your next leadership role, Birmingham provides a supportive yet challenging environment to make a lasting impact.
