An excellent Primary school in Wantage, Oxfordshire is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join them September 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Knowledge of childcare and child development which may have been gained through parental/caring experiences or through formal study.

The Teaching Assistant position will be working in 2 classes (forms) in KS2 (Key Stage 2) with potential SEN and behavioural issues. The SEN aspiring teaching assistant will have the opportunity to work closely with children who have mental health difficulties or need closer support for literacy, numeracy and phonics.

The role

* Pay - FTE is £22,737 | Pro rata £17,101.74 | 44.6 weeks (39 working weeks + 5.6 weeks paid holiday).
* Hours - 8:30am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday - 32.5 hours per week.

* Recognise and respect the role and contribution of other professionals, parents and carers of the Primary KS2 students by liaising effectively and working in partnership with them.
* Work with the class KS2 teacher(s) to keep other professionals informed of performance and progress or concerns they may have about the pupils they work with.
* Provide clerical support for the KS2 classes.
* Understand the responsibility to share knowledge to inform planning and decision making
* Use time effectively following direction of the teacher/ other KS2 staff.
* Communicate their knowledge and understanding of pupils to other Primary school staff and professionals.
