Teaching Assistants
Academics have been placing Graduate Teaching Assistants since September 2007. We look for people who want experience in a Mainstream or Special School before embarking on a PGCE / GTP – those people who want to be Teachers or Education Psychologists in the future. Around 80% of our Graduate TAs work on Long Term Supply for a full academic year, with another 10% working for 2 terms from January.
Our specialist Graduate TA team now work with over 150 client schools in London and the Home Counties and over the last 5 years we have placed nearly 500 candidates in to those schools. Furthermore, our Primary and Secondary recruitment teams have had great success in placing our Graduate Teaching Assistants as Newly Qualified Teachers following a successful PGCE or GTP.
Our roles vary from working with small groups or one to one, as a General Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant. Students may have a range of needs, from Learning and/or Behavioural Difficulties, Dyslexia, Autism or Aspergers, or in some cases Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and those on the Autistic Spectrum.
