Our Education Support Team specialises in placing Graduates into Teaching Assistant roles on a long-term contract basis in Primary and Secondary Schools across London. Typically, these graduates are looking to become our Teachers or Educational Psychologists of the future. The experience they gain in our London schools, as Teaching Assistants, supports their applications to the various Teaching and Education Psychology courses.
Our graduates are intelligent, hard working and very good communicators. They all have some experience working with young people - in the classroom, teaching overseas, tutoring, youth work and other young people related work. All want to have a future in Education.
Over the last eight years the team have placed around 1000 graduate teaching assistants with over 100 Primary and Secondary mainstream schools in London. At certain times of the year, we will have 250+ Graduates working as long term TAs/LSAs in the various London schools. In Primary Schools, graduates work as General Teaching Assistants, also assisting with booster/intervention groups, and one to one Special Needs Learning Support Assistants. In Secondary Schools graduates will quite often work in a subject department ( i.e Maths, English, Science ). A large percentage of our graduates will work within the SEN Department supporting students, both in and out of class, with specific learning and behavioural difficulties.

Our Graduate Teaching Assistants become integral members of school life. Very often our team will place PE, Music and Art graduates that will help out, or run the school clubs. There have been some wonderful success stories of sports results improving, and of outstanding school Music/Drama performances due to the direct contribution of The Academics graduates.
About 80% of our graduates are successful in gaining places on their chosen courses following the completion of a good year/2 years at our London client schools. Following their teaching courses, in lots of cases our graduates will go back to their school to undertake their NQT year. We also have client schools that will put our graduates through a School Direct Programme immediately following their year as a Teaching Assistant.
