The role as a Therapy Assistant and what it entails:
* Your main role and responsibility will be to support the students in the classroom with staying on track with their school work
* They need a teaching assistant who will come in and support them with not only their school work, but also help them find ways to manage and cope with any stress or anxiety that is brought on with academic pressure
* As a Teaching Assistant you will be involved in helping them access their education in a way that is easy for them.
* You will also help facilitate an engaging learning environment where they will have the opportunity to fall in love with learning.
Day to day as a Therapy Assistant, tasks may include:
* Helping keep track of students’ progress
* Helping keep the class an engaging, clean and tidy environment
* Helping the class teacher to manage behaviour
* Helping set up for lessons
* Facilitate and help with specific interventions
The perfect Therapy Assistant will be:
You will ideally have some experience working with children in some capacity. You must be patient and proactive. Enthusiasm is a big one, as these children need to be encouraged and supported to reach their goals. You must have a DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one.
