Academics are honestly the best teaching agency in the world! I came over from NZ in 2003 and joined many teaching agencies in London and had lots of different problems along the way. One thing that Academics do is get you the job that suits you and they work extremely hard to support you with everything you could possibly need. The support is amazing! I am an Australian teacher and I wanted to settle in the UK. In order to move up the pay scale and be considered qualified I needed to gain QTS. Academics made this process easy to understand and even continued to support me when I switched schools part way through. Each step of the process was fully explained. I was given the opportunity to meet with other teachers also gaining QTS at Academics and Kay looked at my folder periodically to assess my progress and my next steps. Friends of mine have gained their QTS through schools and were not given anywhere near the level of support Kay provided. I fully recommend working through Academics.

I had initial, and then progression, meetings to discuss how my application was going; Kay helped me put together my portfolio (her knowledge of the requirements is beyond normal!). I was able to call and text at any time; if I had any questions about how to complete a form or where to place a particular piece of information in my portfolio Academics were there to guide me. Academics also visited me at school to liaise with the senior teacher in charge of the QTS training/university completing the final assessment. Academics also completed two of the formal assessments needed for QTS and were there to give advice on portfolio/presentation/lesson observations and plans. I also was given advice on how to pass the necessary skills tests. I would not have completed my QTS without the help and support of Academics in general and Kay in particular.

I worked through Academics for two years, and I would recommend any teacher looking for a long-term assignment in London to contact them. To the best of my knowledge, Academics is the only agency that is currently supporting their teachers through the OTT QTS programme. After being observed several times and accumulating evidence from different schools I was able to organise my portolios in an afternoon under Kay's guidance. In the end the assessor from West London Partnership was very impressed with the final product.

Academics provided me with an excellent opportunity to undertake my QTS. This experience was both challenging and rewarding. The staff at Academics, especially Jonathan and Kay, provided me with limitless support throughout the process of undertaking my QTS.
