Supporting Children with SEN
 

This session is aimed at all teachers and LSAs working for Academics who support children with special educational needs. The purpose of the session is to develop the participants’ understanding of the legal procedure of providing SEN support for children in school. This course aims to offer a practical opportunity to review a range of skills relevant to support children with SEN. At the end of the session the participants will feel more confident to support children with SEN in school.


The New Early Years Framework
 

This session is open to all Nursery, Reception and Year 1 teachers who have not attended training on the NEYF. The purpose of the session is to develop the participants’ understanding of the New Early Years Framework and how to practically implement it in their classrooms. At the end of the session the participants will feel more confident about adopting the EY Framework and making it work in their classrooms.


Differentiation and Assessment in Secondary Schools
 

This training is aimed at all secondary teachers and is a must if you are hoping to gain QTS or pass your NQT Induction. The purpose of this session is to help teachers to translate short term planning into practice to ensure that the pupils’ different learning needs are met. We will help you to develop your teaching styles to meet the pupils’ varying learning styles. At the end of the session you will have a series of lesson plans that enable you to differentiate the learning in your class.

This training is aimed at all primary teachers and is a must if you are hoping to gain QTS or pass your NQT Induction standards. The purpose of this session is to help teachers to translate short term planning into practice to ensure that the pupils’ different learning needs are met. We will help you to develop your teaching styles to meet the pupils’ varying learning styles. At the end of the session you will have a series of lesson plans that enable you to differentiate the learning in your class.


Familiarisation with the English Education System
 

This training is aimed at all teachers new to the UK system. The purpose of this session is to help teachers new to this country to settle into their new job more effectively by gaining an understanding of how the British Education System works. The course aims to help you learn about the legal requirements of teaching in English schools and how to access support online. At the end of the session you will be able to access to a support network of your peers and more experienced teachers working for Academics.


Safeguarding Children and Yourself in School
 

This training is aimed at all our existing teachers and is a must if you have not studied the new legislation. The purpose of this session is to help teachers to understand how the new Safeguarding Children Guidance works in practice. At the end of the session you will have a comprehensive understanding of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable conduct for you and the pupils and have a range of mechanisms to put it into practice.


Managing Pupil Behaviour Workshop
 

This session is open to all teachers working for Academics and is in response to requests from teachers wanting to broaden their ability to manage pupils’ behaviour more effectively.

The purpose of the session is to provide a range of strategies to manage pupils’ behaviour: establishing routines; dealing with moderate disruptions; and managing challenging behaviour.

The course aims to help participants to be proactive in managing pupils’ behaviour. At the end of the session the participants will feel more confident about managing pupil’s disruptive behaviour as they will have a range of techniques to use in the classroom.


QTS Programme for Overseas Trained Teachers
 

This training is aimed at all secondary OTTs. The purpose of this session is to help overseas trained teachers to understand the requirements of certain QTS criteria. The course aims to enable the participants to develop their skills and experience in these QTS criteria. At the end of the session the participants will be able to put the learning into practice in order to gather the evidence needed for their QTS portfolio.
