Meet the Portsmouth Teaching Recruitment Team
The Portsmouth teaching jobs office is one of the longest established in the whole of Academics and covers Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire and West Sussex, as well as other surrounding areas. The team work closely with Schools, Nurseries, Colleges and Referral units across the regions. The whole office take great pride and satisfaction in the relationships they have developed with teaching establishments, teachers and other support staff. The Portsmouth office is included on the Preferred Supplier List for Schools in both Hampshire and Portsmouth. Their reputation for teacher recruitment in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas continues to go from strength to strength because of the dedication that they all put into the work that they do.
Steve has only been with Academics since August 2014. He has however worked in Education recruitment for the last 6 years and managed teams in London. In the summer he relocated back home to the South Coast. Steve has particular strength with Special Education Needs having previously specialised in supplying staff to SEN schools. Before working in teacher recruitment Steve was a Secondary teacher and studied Law at university, where he also worked part time as a teaching assistant in a local college. Steve is currently in the process of becoming a school governor, has a passion for rugby having played for the past 10 years and he and his wife have recently started a family.
Billie joined Academics in 2011, and during this time she has successfully grown a Nursery, Primary and Secondary desk. Billie currently looks after all the Primary schools within Portsmouth and the surrounding areas which is one of the busiest desks within the company. Before her life in Education recruitment, Billie was an estate agent with a local company for 4 years. After successfully exceeding targets and personal milestones within that sector, Billie decided that a career change was needed and so she started at academics. In her spare time she enjoys running and attending music events amongst shopping and socialising.
Amy joined Academics in September 2015 and will be looking after the temporary and permanent recruitment needs of mainstream and SEN schools in the Southampton and Hampshire area. Amy has worked in education recruitment for the past 6 years having successfully set up and managed a Hampshire SEN desk and managed a team of Consultants. Previous to this, Amy worked in a sales support capacity in various recruitment agencies before stepping up and developing a career in Recruitment. In her spare time she attends weekly spin and HIIT classes to balance a love of food and travelling.
