Science Teacher

Science Teacher required for the once home of Alan Turing and Rosalind Franklin

September 2020 Contract / Permanent

Academics Ltd in Surrey is working with an Outstanding co-educational comprehensive school in the Guildford area where we are recruiting for a qualified Science Teacher.

The school in question is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive school with specialist provision in ICT/Computing, Maths and Science.

Following an Ofsted inspection in November 2012 and due to school expansion, they are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to work in an “Outstanding” school.

Are you:

* Enthusiastic, flexible and resilient?
* Determined to “make a difference” and to enthuse the next generation of scientists?
* Motivated to embrace change, particularly in relation to Science?

Science is taught in twelve purpose-built laboratories each with an interactive whiteboard and fully equipped with class sets of resources.

Students currently follow AQA Combined Trilogy for the majority at KS4 whilst more-able students or those interested in the sciences opt for AQA Biology, Chemistry and Physics. In 2019, 80% of students gained two grades 9 to 4, whilst 78%+ gained a grade 6 or higher in the separate sciences.

If you would relish the opportunity of working with highly motivated pupils in a supportive and stimulating professional environment, then Academics would welcome your application.

Please use the information provided and your own expertise to complete a CV and supporting statement using the following headings:

* Reflect on your training – how have you developed as a teacher?
* What are your strengths?
* What have you done to ensure that standards are always outstanding or better?

Closing date for applications is 10am 28th February 2020

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The post is subject to a DBS enhanced certificate.

We appreciate the time invested in submitting applications for the role, and will be reviewing submissions as soon as received. If you have not heard from us within five days, please accept that your application has not been successful but we thank you for applying.
