SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD Unit

A good London secondary school with a specialist ASD Unit is looking for a teaching assistant to join them from September 2019 for the duration of the academic year. Experience working with individuals with Autism or Asperger Syndrome is essential.

This successful provision supports secondary aged students with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, with students spending time in both the mainstream school (where appropriate) and the specialist unit. Class sizes within the provision are between six and eight students with TAs supporting the teacher and students in each.

To apply for this teaching assistant role, you will need to have:

* Experience working with SEN students; ASD experience would be a bonus
* An understanding of autism and the desire to undertake additional ASD training
* The flexibility to work within the unit and in mainstream lessons
* The ability to deliver a range of activities to students on a one to one or small group basis
