Learning Support Assistant

Cardiff Secondary School

Part-Time or Full Time position available

£55-£60 Per Day

Due to a high demand, Academics are currently seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to work in a secondary school in Cardiff. The position is available full or part time and will offer the right candidate the opportunity to gain or develop their skills and experience whilst working in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The role will require the candidate to work with pupils on the Autistic Spectrum, providing support and promoting learning within a classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience working within a classroom setting and will be passionate about helping young people progress. They will be expected to use their own initiative in the classroom, effectively utilising their communication skills to support pupils and teaching staff. The successful Learning Support Assistant will be confident in working with young people of secondary school age and will be able to effectively promote positive behaviour within the classroom. The ability to adapt to working 1:1 with pupils of different ages, abilities and learning needs is imperative. Experience of working with young people on the autistic spectrum will be a specific advantage.

To become a Learning Support Assistant in this Secondary School you will:

Have experience of working with young people in a learning environment within the last 3 years.

Have experience working in secondary schools will be beneficial but not essential.

*

Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.

*

Be able to support the learning policies and become an active member of the school team.

*

Be able to expand the learning ability for pupils of all ages and at different levels.
