Monday – Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Pay: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Harlow, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic QTS History Teacher. The school is committed to delivering a broad and engaging Humanities curriculum, encouraging students to think critically, analyse historical events and develop a lifelong appreciation of history.

Job Overview:

* This school caters for students aged 11–16.
* Full-time, Monday – Friday, History Teacher role.
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
* Inspire students through creative and thought-provoking teaching that develops historical knowledge, analytical skills and independent thinking.
* Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong attainment and positive outcomes.
* Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all students can succeed.
* Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school team.
* Contribute to curriculum development, intervention programmes and enrichment opportunities, including educational visits and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

This History Teacher role in Harlow offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and ambitious school that values both student achievement and staff development. You will play a key role in fostering students' understanding of significant historical events and themes while helping them develop the skills to evaluate evidence, form balanced arguments and become informed, reflective citizens.

What we're looking for:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
* A degree in History or a closely related subject.
* Experience teaching History across KS3 and KS4 within a secondary school.
* A passion for History and the ability to engage, motivate and challenge learners of all abilities.
* Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
* A proactive, positive and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
